“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don’t get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can’t do anything, don’t get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it’s ready to come undone. You have to realize it’s going to be a
long process and that you’ll work on things slowly, one at a time.”
― Haruki Murakami
I wait for the Pink Poui Trees every year. As February comes, our streets turn pink and it’s a joy seeing the trees all along roads and in the city. Early Feb, I was walking around a lake when I spotted my first Pink Poui of 2024 and there you see me all happy and excited.
Is there a particular tree that gets you excited too?
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on March 14, 2024. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog, tell me where did you spot the tree and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

The Pink Poui is pretty! Is this the tree that colors all of Bengaluru this time of the year?
What gets me excited every Feb is the Almond Tree.
The almond orchards just outside our community is are in full bloom, now. Although I did go and catch some of the blossoms, I’m sharing some desert wildflowers, this week.
Specifically for TTL, I have a Tree at the end of the same post.
(The post is on some desert vegetation from California’s Desert Region. )
So yeah –for this edition — an Elephant Tree from Anza Borego Desert. 🙂 Thank you for hosting, Parul. 🙂 https://dnambiar.com/2024/02/desert-wildflowers.html

That’s a beautiful tree but I haven’t seen this in north India. I look forward to the red blossoms of Sem trees before Holi and the Gulmohar in summers!

I first saw this tree last year when I visited Pune. I was so happy and excited to see these beautiful pink blooms across the streets. Thanks for sharing the names, as I had thought they were just cherry blossoms. Pink Poui is such a cute name.
Keep smiling and love this quote by Murakami – just keep going…
