On our recent trip to Spiti Valley, we were in Tabo for half a day and the night. It’s a small village with a handful population. The place we stayed in had this tree in the owner’s backyard. At first, I did not know that the owner lived in the same house. Then when I noticed, I saw how his family had made peace with the rough weather and altitude. The village was their home.
