This picture was clicked in Tung Chung which is to the east of Hong Kong. Such clear skies are a rare sight in western and central regions of Hong Kong. The city faces a big issue in the form of air pollution and what looks like fog is smog that covers the sky.
Development is important but what humans fail to realize is that the environment needs to be protected too. Vehicles, emission from industries and power plants need to be contained but keeping environment green. This is a challenge that not just Hong Kong faces but even other well-developed nations struggle with.
As citizens of our fast growing modern world, it is our responsibility to take care of the environment and not let development hide the beautiful skies.
For Day 20 of NaBloPoMo and NoMo, I am participating in Skywatch Friday.
What you said about pollution is very valid but I cannot take my eyes off those gorgeous hues of the sky. Lovely click.

Ha ha! I agree. But trust me, I was in the central Hong Kong and never had a chance to see such skies. It was only when we went to the East, we saw such a sight. Such sad thing! 😦

Beautiful clik and somehow resembles the importance of the point you raise about development at the cost of environment

Wow the sky looks so beautiful. Pollution is a big problem now… the sight of a clear blue sky, devoid of buildings and skyscrapers is becoming rare in cities.

I agree: Today, in the name of development building are flouting FSI rules which is proving to be a hazard and endangering environment. But, it’s a power click and love such views.

Those are some lovely colours in the sky :). I guess with the ever increasing population and I think Hong Kong has one of the highest population densities in the world as well as reliance on ones own transport, the pollution is rising quite rapidly.
I mean in Beijing, people recently started buying fresh air. Could have never imagined that I would see something like that in my lifetime :O.
