I can’t remember the last time January 1 fell on a Monday. It feels like a perfect start to a new calendar year.
As I am writing this, there are easy nine hours before we ring the bell on 2024. I have had an active and busy 2023. I can’t complain. Health issues and scares are all part of growing old so I have begun to accept that. Work keeps on growing but I like being busy.
Let me share with you some fun facts of 2023. And fun from my side. We all know enough of what’s happening in the world.
- I clocked in an average of 7300 steps per day this year.
- I travelled to two states (Uttar Pradesh and Haryana) in India and two in the US (Minnesota and Wisconsin).
- I witnessed the fall season for the first time in my life and I am still dreaming of more colors on trees.
- I got lucky and spotted two rainbows from my balcony this year.
- On 30th December, I completed 1000 classes at my workout. This was over a period of 5 years and I am proud.
- I crocheted two tops, knitted a top for myself and also crocheted a triangular shawl for a friend’s relative.
- For my birthday, VT and I went to a nearby lake and for both my birthday and our anniversary, we went to two different yet old and famous South Indian breakfast joints in Bangalore.
- In my balcony garden – my white orchid bloomed after an year.
There are more but I will stop here. How about you share with me a fun fact from 2023?
The idea of this post is that as a blogger I would love for you dear reader to say hello and identify yourself. Delurk this one week of the year and tell me which city/country you are visiting from. Bloggers see their stats and they know how many people would have stopped by to read a post but they don’t know your name or where you are reading the post from. So they request you to delurk and tell us something about yourself.
Would you?
If you are a blogger and would like to join any time during the week, feel free to use the image above and link to this post. If you don’t see a pingback, please leave a comment with your post’s link. And guess what? I promise I won’t lurk.

Hello from a non-lurker. Those are such phenomenal facts. 1000 workout days and 7000 plus steps every day – amazing. 2023 has been a hectic year, what with the twins poised on the edge of college. Hoping for a peaceful 2024 – the latter half at least.

Well, I could only reach 3449 steps per day so that’s not even half of yours. In terms of gardening, I’ve become a better gardener now. No plant of mine died in 2023 because of my mistake and that was a huge relief. Plus I have decided to write more often now again which is one of my 2024 goals.

Never a lurker on your lovely blog, Parul. I love to stop by, read your posts and share my thoughts ever since we met in the blogosphere nearly 8 years ago, or maybe more. Reading your remarkable achievements in 2023 brought a smile to my face…I was inspired by how regularly you worked out especially, since mine was somewhat irregular this year due to multiple reasons. I love that you blogged despite your hectic schedule and shared so many beautiful and thoughtful tree posts while you were busy juggling home and work. Wishing that 2024 is an even better year for you and that you are blessed with abundance in health, work, travel opportunities and crocheting!!
Happy New Year once again!

Hi Parul, I don’t need to introduce myself here, do I? I love reading and commenting on your posts from when we interacted first time, somewhere in 2014.
1000 workout classes is an exceptional achievement, Parul. Way to go! Wish you a lot more accomplishments in 2024.
I was going to publish my delurking post, but I missed the timeline.

That a wonderful list of achievements to round off your year with, Parul! Wish you many more of those in the coming days. I’ve been off the blogging world for quite a while now, only to return recently with a new website on animal communication last month. So that has been my highlight for 2023! Hope to be more regular with my blogging now. See you around!
