Onam Ashamsakal to all those who celebrate Onam. May the harvest festival bring an abundance of joy, prosperity and happiness.
My apartment complex is celebrating Onam this weekend. There is Sadya and then there are Pookalam competitions planned. One of the organizers asked me if I would like to volunteer for the decoration and I did not raise my hand up. I am a bit messy and I did not want the floral carpets to look off with my touch.
On the other hand, I am sure you all remember LP and her Pookalams that she shares with me and in turn with you readers every year. This time her little girl took charge of the colors in the Pookalams and I think she did a really good job.
I also asked LP to give us the name of each day in Malayalam so we can all learn a little bit more.
Like last year, the star signs overlapped on two days, so we got to see more Pookalams making the days brighter and colorful. So until next year, have a good festival season and may there be peace around and within us.
