I am a shop keeper.
Running a small bakery from 6 in the morning to 8 in the night,
in Taiwan, my life is happy and bright.
Two little children and a 7-year-old shop,
I sell buns, cookies, candies and cake pops.
I click photos and I make cards,
to give myself a break, when my work gets hard.
I love my work as I meet many there,
people come to my shop from every where.
My name is Wan Ping Hung and I am a bakery store keeper.

Today is edition #3 of #WomenAtWork, a new regular photo feature on this blog. If you are interested to participate, please read the inaugural post and join if you can. I would love to see your take on the tag.
I met Wan virtually on a Facebook group and she lives in Taiwan. We spoke about her life and work and she shared this picture of her at work. Her enthusiasm about her shop was palpable and in spite of that little language barrier between us, I enjoyed our chats.
Wan – Happy to have met you and know that you have a friend in India!!
Your post brought a smile to my face, Parul 🙂

Its a warm story. It takes a little sorting to be strong and independent like Wan. I wish many women would realise this and stop cribbing.

Your feature – “Women at work” is quite lovely :). It tells stories of women who are far away from the glitz and glamour of the world outside. The poem has given us a nice sneak peek into Wan’s life :D.
