There are many countries and even more people in this world but we are all one. Something that binds our entire human race is love.
We love celebrations. We love stories that inspire us and help us keep up with the ups and downs of life. These are those moments that bring us all together. Success, money, and fame are important but not more than the feeling that in spite of not being physically connected, humans find a way to connect with each other.
Are you wondering what brings us all together?
Festivals.
Many people do not live in their country of origin. Jobs or travel takes them to other countries and then the host country becomes home for them. There are also a few who adapt to festivals of other countries. Sometimes for love of the idea behind the festival or the joy of celebrating with their community. Sometimes to give children a flavor of the world that we all live in. Whatever may be the reason, for me that is one big example of the world becoming one.
Lai Tang, VT’s peer in London sent him this picture from Canary Wharf. I did not see such a beautiful rangoli in India this year but so what? I was able to see it in this picture.

A tweet that made me smile this year. I call this respecting diversity and a good leader should be inclusive which Obama shows through this gesture.
This is pretty amazing. A sitting president observing Diwali in the Oval Office. Bet that’s a first! 🇺🇸 Thank you @POTUSpic.twitter.com/D1AGwkJhEq

My friend CP who is settled in the US is here in India with her family on a vacation. Her son Y had his cute little moment on Halloween. So what if he wasn’t able to go ask for treats? This is called feeling at home when away from home.

Little V, A and M dressed up for Diwali this year and posed perfectly to show their happiness for the Festival of Lights. AJ’s children will never wonder which part of the world celebrates Diwali cos they will know from their 2016 picture.

My festival season was a happy one with all this love from all around the world. The world is surely one.
Thank you Lai, CP and AJ for allowing me to use your pictures and we love how you shared your joy with the rest of the world.
Some happiness on Day 3 of #NaBloPoMo
Festivals do indeed spread cheer and love in the world and make it better place.

I think we all are becoming more multi-cultural because of work and media. For example in Bangalore and Gurugram there are so many people from across the country and we make friends and celebrate life’s moment with them. I think our generation is better placed when it comes to accepting different cultures.

I think exposure to different cultures is important and through a festival is great. Celebrate diversity as joy is universal.
