I Heart Aunty Acid

With over 3.5 million fans on Facebook, she is one who gives me my daily dose of fun. Since her launch on Facebook in 2012, her popularity has grown manifold and she continues to add new followers from across the world every single day. She is witty and almost every person who follows her can relate to her. A Brit by birth, she is not at all afraid to speak her mind. Yes, she is Aunty Acid!

There are so many intelligent quotes from Aunty Acid that it’s hard to list a few but here is an attempt to call out a couple that I enjoy even when I know they have been shared umpteen times.

  • I’d lose weight..but I hate losing. It’s all in the mind and if I set my mind to it, I am sure I can do it. I even replied this same thing to someone who promptly told me that I have gained weight since the last time we met.
  • Can we start the weekend over again? I wasn’t ready..Like most of the people I know, I wait for the weekend as soon as Monday kicks off and most of the times I find myself thinking what did I do over the weekend? Can it start again and I will do a better job with it! Most of my daily household chores are pushed for the next one and as you may guess by now, it never comes.
  • Men look at a woman’s behind and go “Wow! What an ass!” Women look at a man’s face and think the same. How more true can it get? A woman ignores umpteen stares, ogles, snide remarks day in and day out. And yes, she thinks what an ass!
  • The best thing I make for dinner is reservations I am not that big a fan of cooking. I was bitten by the baking bug early last year and I ended up making cookies, cakes etc. Later, I realized why should I put in so much of effort – the cupcakes and the cookies available in the market are so more delicious and come effortless! The same goes with cooking – dinner or lunch. Reservations are easier to make.
  • If you can’t be positive, ..then at least be quiet Stay away from people who belittle your ambitions and dreams. A lot of people you meet try to persuade you to back off. Won’t it be so much better if you did not have to hear to what these people had to say? I personally wish, if they could just keep their thoughts to themselves.
  • Don’t you wish some people would start using glue instead of lipstick? This would be so amazing. No senseless talks and would help even the above thoughts.
  • A wise man once said..”I don’t know..Ask a woman” Women seem to have an answer for so many things. We are well researched, informed and opinionated. We are great at multitasking and sometimes we know things even if we did not pay attention to it.
  • Why do people with brains the size of Peas have mouths the size of Water Melons? Can it get any worse? Sometimes, it feels that brains are even smaller than the size of peas – like that of mustard seeds.
  • Don’t take life too seriously. It’s not like you are going to get out alive. This one is so true! Life is to be lived, enjoyed and experienced. If you were given a chance to pack your problem and put it at a place where everyone else has, chances are that you will pick up your own when asked to choose from all problems available. Moreover, who has ever come out alive?

There are so many amazing quotes by Aunty Acid out there that I wish that there was a subject on Life in colleges and she could take classes for all of us. Imagine how much fun that would be? What is your favorite Aunty Acid quote?

  1. Very much enjoyed Auntie Acid! Not sure about my fav, but I really laughed at shaving a gorilla. I had just as much fun playing with the worm on a hook. Still waiting for the fish to come by and get caught!

  2. Actually I like most of Aunty Acid ‘gyaan’ but this one is so true – “Sometimes the first step to forgiveness is understanding the other person is a freaking idiot”!!!
