#MicroblogMondays – Beyond wedding ceremonies

Beyond wedding ceremonies – backdrop was a couple exchanging vows

There is a lot to marriage beyond wedding ceremonies and most people know that simple truth in life.

A grand party at a plush venue, hundreds of guests, good food, designer dresses and everything perfect to a tee is by no means an indicator of how the marriage will turn out to be. It’s the two people who make it work and nothing less or more than that.

Marriage is like a little wall standing on the sands of friendship, love and trust. The wall doesn’t know what kind of waves will hit it or at what time – the waves could be so small that they touch the wall or go or it could be so big that the wall gets submerged in it. Some waves could even shake the wall.

But once the wave recedes, it’s the wall that stands still on the same sand – stronger and firmer this time.

It’s all in the wall.

Last #MicroblogMondays of 2015 is here. Also tagging this post’s picture that I clicked on Repulse Bay beach in Hong Kong for Mundane Monday.

  1. Beautiful post. We always tell our kids that the wedding is one day, the marriage is a whole life. Therefore, focus less on the single day and more on how they’ll live out the rest of their lives with their partner.

  2. Well said Parul. Very well said.
People seem to concentrate on the plush weddings with designer clothes and whatnot that they forget to see what actually lies beyond those 3-4 days of extravagance.
