I’ve a packed schedule today. Writing, reading, cleaning, sleeping, eating and cooking. In that order. A day off shouldn’t look like this. 😜

I love taking off from work on the day that falls between a weekend and a declared off at work – a day like today when tomorrow is Republic Day and yesterday was Sunday. Such a day gives me a chance to finish off things that have been long pending on my list of chores without any interruptions and I also get the opportunity to meet myself all over again.
Don’t get me wrong – I love my weekends with VT. Together, we are always busy walking, talking or catching up on other interests. But these ones becomes 100% mine and that is why I prefer having all the time for myself.
As I am typing this, it is 7:00 PM ; I got some cleaning done, organized the always messy house, one post is scheduled and this one is for today, I made gajar ka halwa and found time to cycle to Yoga. I was not able to read or sleep but I am hopeful I will be able to read something before I sleep.
I’m feeling pretty good about my productivity today and I am already patting my back for a day well spent.
What’s your idea of a day off?

Writing for #MicroblogMondays and tagging this gajar ka halwa that I made for Mundane Monday #43.
Sigh… I’ve gotten so lazy that I very rarely do anything productive on an off day. I would just end up using it to make food, eat, watch sitcoms, eat again and add sleep wherever there is a gap in the previous sections

So that’s your idea and perfectly fine. 🙂 Relax!!

My idea of a good day off is to be able to do something I can’t normally do – even if it is shopping in almost empty stores. I’m not into binge TV watching and I usually end up spending too much time online.

That sounds like me 😀 I also like empty stores and non-TV days

Off days – what are those? as a part stay-at-home-mom part freelancer off days are a dream. But I do love a long siesta when I can manage it.

Aww!! I feel for you but try and get your long siestas 🙂 🙂

What a lovely day – well spent!
But this is pretty much an alien concept for me these days – off days means full time baby-duty, and the “baby” is quite the handful. 😛

Wow! You packed quite a lot in your day! My idea of a weekend off is first a clean and tidy home followed by cooking something in a jiffy (one pot meals are my favs) and then curling up in bed with a book and then sleeping.

Pretty much the same but I always end up sleeping with a book/mobile in hand, letting the blog also sleep in a corner! 😛 (I know it feels guilty when the day gets over! )

What a lovely action packed day you’ve had. That’s my idea of a day off too even though I have no “job ” . On my day off I do things at my pace and what I want!

You know one of the things about freelancing is never really having an off. The husband and I are both working even on Republic Day. For a day off I do decluttering, chores, teach the kids, cook, read and catch up with recorded TV or movies.

That sounds like an amazing day off….you nurture yourself well! I am looking forward to one day having a snow day. As a teacher, it’s the best kind of day — an unscheduled day off where you don’t need to write sub plans detailing every moment of your day…a truly free day off where serious pampering can take place because nothing was expected of you that day — no appointments because you were supposed to be at school, just glorious free time.

Initially, my idea of taking an off on Monday was for getting some things done, like few pending reviews, some bank work and such. Till flu got the better of me. 😛 Didn’t even have the energy to log in to my blog.

Mondays are definitely not mundane if you make gajar ka halwa like this. 🙂

My idea of a day off is like you said 100â„… me time. May be a day off work, may be a day to just work.. Depends. I love gajar ka halwa!

I’m also thinking about talking a day off next week. Just to be at home, spend time with kids, do nothing. That sort of day is needed sometime. By the way. Halwa really looks tasty from here.

Reading and playing video games. But I rarely take a day off. A lot of weekends are about playing catch-up, or getting to all the things I didn’t get to through the week. I have to work ahead in order to fully take a day off. Sniff.

Sounds like a perfect day! Our Sundays are pretty much this way!

I try to keep the projects to a minimum given the short time. Weekends include most chores; grocery, laundry and the like. In the midst of all that one must craft time to read, write, draw, walk, and such.

Nice day spent in a relaxed way, I hope. Usually we spent Sundays when we are together like this without more plannings. But really those would become more memorable days.

For me my day off is all about washing clothes, sleeping, cooking, getting the weekly groceries, reading and yeah blogging as well ;).
