I don’t have a OCD. At least that is what I would like to think and state before I list out the things I always wonder about.
- I don’t wash utensils after my help has done her job.
- I don’t arrange my kitchen in a certain way. Or the house even.
- I don’t clean each nook and corner every Sunday.
- I don’t keep tossing and turning clothes on the clothes’ line so that they dry completely.
- My clothes aren’t arranged by colors or sleeves’ length
- I am okay sitting near a pile of washed clothes for a couple of days.
- I don’t fold clothes a certain way.
- I don’t go crazy over leftover food.
- I don’t let the maid come later if I haven’t had breakfast.
- My Sundays are not for cleaning.
In short, I am okay with all the mess around as long as I can eat, read, write and sleep. What about you?

For Day 14 of #NaBloPoMo, this is a microblog. The picture I clicked is for Mundane Monday #84.
Ha ha.. me too. Hifi ✋ but i dont have a luxury of maid in US

Geez .. April likes like I have been bitten by the OCD bug. I want my kitchen arranged in a certain way. I need my wardrobe arranged too. Weekends are for cleaning nooks and corners and I go crazy over leftover food😂

Parul, after reading your post, I am beginning to think that I definitely have OCD;-). I find it difficult to leave mess around me as I cannot focus on the task at hand. But having said that, a lot has changed over the years. I find myself much more accepting of change now than in the past, though! The more I depend on others for the chores, the less control I have over things and then, perhaps the best thing is to let go! Home always reminds me of work and I find it hard to relax at home which explains why I’m always full of energy when I spend my day out of the house.

Oh, me too. I don’t worry about some clutter at all. 🙂

For me, this is a feel good post. It’s relieving that I don’t suffer from OCD, and I am not the only one. Hi five! 🙂

I’m so relaxed about getting dishes put away that my husband usually ends up doing it before I get around to it! He doesn’t have OCD either, but he has some OCD-like tendencies, which sometimes work out pretty well!

Oh I definitely have to fold clothes a certain way, alright. The rest are not a problem at all 😀

Oooohh, first thought: how I miss my maid from when I lived in India…. Hahahahah – I have to admit that I like things in order around me… but only because I think clearer then… Call me crazy … And yes, clothes organised in colour…. Hahahah Fun post to read dear Parul:-)

I may be the exact opposite. I have been known to bleach the inside of the dishwasher… and this is after I’ve already washed all dishes before putting them into the dishwasher.

Ha Ha Parul. How I wish I could do that. I am the exact opposite. Super OCD, if there was a term like that!

To an extent.. I can allow myself the luxury of lounging around and reading, unless the place REALLY needs picking up..

Ummm, totally have my closet organized by color, and I fold everything a certain way. I do let the laundry sit in the basket longer than is probably advisable. I would love a housecleaner…that’s on the wish list. However, I get a certain kick out of vacuuming. So satisfying, a good vacuum!

I have to fold clothes a certain way and I also put them to dry in a certain order . I like order. I cannot stand mess…at all! I like if things are organised in my home, because things are never “organised”in life, probably the reason behind me looking for order! 🙂 But that does not make me an OCD , because people who really suffer from the condition are in pain, they actually suffer badly. I read an article sometime back on the topic and learnt why we must not be using the term so loosely. It is an affliction which needs help and not ridicule. Since then, I have stopped thinking of myself as an OCD or using that term to describe myself or anyone.

Shilpa, I apologize. I did use it loosely without thinking about those who suffer. Bad mistake and I know what you mean. Thanks for bringing it out.

Me too… I’m a naturally messy person but yet I find life is much more serene when there’s not a mess. Mess around me feels chaotic. I’m a terrible organizer. My husband is great at it. The only 2 dumb things: 1) I don’t like walking into my bedroom and see an unmade bed… but since my kids’ rooms are upstairs, I’m not bothered much by theirs. 2) I don’t go nuts about it, but I prefer when the bottles, cartons etc in the refrigerator are facing forward instead of turning different ways. Maybe this comes from working in a supermarket for many years as a teenager. xo

I just love you for this post Parul. Though some days I do turn clothes over so they dry fast – but not in an OCD kind of way. Glad to know there are others like me.

LOL 😀 I do have a certain amount of OCD for keeping my home in order and cleaning things. In fact, I cant relax till my home is in spic and span condition.

But my husband has OCD for sure! Except asking the maid to come at a later time and washing utensils after she has done the cleaning, he does every single thing you have mention here. 😛 😛 I always knew he has OCD 😛

I am a bit of mixture actually. While I am super OCD if you may call it when it comes to my kitchen and the toilet and stuff, I am kinda lazy when it concerns the clothes in my bedroom and the likes ;). I tend to fold clothes only after a few days of just leaving them outside the cupboard or even many a time when I get up in the morning, I am too lazy to fold the mattress :P.

I and my husband both of us can relax only when everything in place, otherwise very difficult to do any work:) some times I may leave, but I prefer to have everything in place…
