It was Onam a fortnight ago. A harvest festival of the state of Kerala in India. It’s the only festival in India that goes beyond religion, caste or community. Onam is a state festival which means people regardless of their backgrounds celebrate this festival.
Like every year for the last over 9 years, this year too my friend LP shared Pookalams from her home with me. I have always loved the designs and I admire the meticulous work that goes behind making these floral carpets.
So here they are for all of us to admire.

Aren’t these all so beautiful? I am always very grateful to LP for bringing these pookalams to us and sharing her joy. It’s a blessing when you have friends who make you a part of their festivities in such a kind way.
So until next year, bask in these beauties and wishing you all a happy Onam.

They all look so beautiful. So refreshing. I love the pattern of the last one. So neatly and perfectly done.

This is so stunning! As a malayali, I’ve been wanting to do this since I got married, but haven’t gotten to it till now. Maybe from next year.
